Two weeks ago I was able to photograph my friend Megan Nelson’s maternity shots. She was due with her second child exactly one week from the shoot! Megan and her husband Jeremy just moved into their new house a month prior to the shoot and their oldest son Caidin was VERY excited to show me around. Being a boy Caidin did not like his picture taken so we had to play a couple of games like, “Caidin look in my lens and tell me what you see in there” and “Caidin can you hear the baby” ect… Caidin isn’t big on hugging and kissing, just that age but we worked with him and I think we created some fabulous shots! Megan is an artist as well so that helped on a comfort level and she had patience while we were working with Caidin. At one point it was a Caidin shoot but then we remembered it was also about Mother and Child. Just when we were ready to wrap our shoot up her husband Jeremy came home and we got to do a family portrait in the nursery, which Megan painted herself.(awesome!)
