Matt + Bekah Continued

In Client shoots, Wedding, klm Photography on July 10, 2008 at 8:21 pm

As promised here are the rest of Matt and Bekah’s images. There were so many I loved it was hard to chose. Bekah’s Dad preformed the ceremony. He’s a great man who was always cracking me up! Check out their dancing shots. She surprised him with a Kermit the Frog song for their Father/Daughter dance. I think everyone in their families laughed and smiled just as much as they did.

Running around Landis Valley was tons of fun. I’m in love with their porches. Each porch gave a different feel to the image.  The sun came out. It didn’t rain. What more could this girl ask for!

Matt proposed to Bekah in Jim Thorpe, Pa. If you haven’t gone there go!! Anyways, he proposed to her by a river surrounded by river rocks. They used the river rocks from Jim Thorpe, for their guest’s table tags.

The always calm, collected and cool, Matt.

No pain. No gain! Bobby pins do hurt!

Instead of blowing bubbles or throwing bird seed, Bekah’s mom had the idea of a lavender toss. The lavender smelled great in the humid air.

The next shot cracks me up. Bekah’s sister and friends are “girlier” than she is (her own spoken words). The girls wanted to do a jumping in the air shot. Bekah  wanted to get out of dodge for this one so she hung with the guys.

Matt + Bekah 7.5.08

In Client shoots, Wedding, klm Photography on July 8, 2008 at 8:09 pm

Matt and Bekah are just awesome. I really truly couldn’t ask for better clients (my clients are pretty rocking and I’m very fortunate!). They were so willing and eager to do anything I asked. Bekah didn’t even flinch when there were ants crawling up her dress!!

When I met them last December we just sat and talked for over an hour. It was an instant click! I’ve got tons to tell you about this wedding but for now here’s a sneak from Saturday. The sun peaked through just in time for the ceremony! Thank you sun gods!!

I had to post a shot from our inside joke. A super hero and his beautiful wife!

Lexie and Kaya Dog Session

In Client shoots, Pet, klm Photography on June 19, 2008 at 4:34 pm

Lexie and Kaya are two beautiful Australian Shepard’s. Their mom Anne, contacted me to spend some time photographing these two beauties. Lexie (and I still can’t believe this) is 14! She’s starting to have some old age  complications. Hopefully in time her new medications will be adjusted and she’ll bounce back with a little more spring in her step. She’s very active for 14.  Kaya is still a young buck, she’s 3 or 4, I think. Kaya is a Aussie/Collie mix. I love the spotted strip running down her head to her nose. Oh yeah, Anne and her husband have two cats too. Of course they got in on the shoot action. Very handsome boys who were strutting around trying to persuade some attention from the girls. Boys, geesh, what are ya gonna do?!

Thanks for all the kisses and love ladies!

Lexie, the Tri-Aussie.

A peacefully sleeping Kaya.

Dog Session

In Client shoots, Pet, Portrait, klm Photography on June 10, 2008 at 6:12 pm

I’m a bit behind in my post, sorry about that. Two weeks ago I had a rocking dog session with 5 dogs! Scar, Megan, Ralph, Pete and Visu (hope I spelled that right) We spent the morning at Musser Park. Scar, Megan and Ralph’s mom contacted me for a dog session as a birthday present for their dad. Super cute! When Brooke’s  friend Beth, found out what we were up to, she asked if she could have a session too. Heck ya, the more the merrier! Plus their dogs play together a lot so it was more like a play date with a camera involved.

I thought while I’m processing the shoot for their online gallery I’d post a few favs.

This is my personal added touch to my photographs. Sorry, two shots will have to do for now.

Ps- We still have some dates open for the 2008 wedding year! Contact me and we can set up your consult.

Above is crazy Pete and below is the lovable Scar.

Jen+Jim E-Session

In Client shoots, Portrait, Wedding, klm Photography on May 27, 2008 at 7:08 pm

I couldn’t have asked for better weather than I got on Saturday for Jen + Jim’s e-session. Fantastic! I met Jen + Jim at Central Market right up from my studio…..Ya, I said it, major announcement klm Photography has a studio! I don’t want to hijack Jen+ Jim’s post about studio news but I’ll be posting more about the studio. Official announcement is coming.

Back to the matter at hand. We ran around Downtown Lancaster and had tons of fun. Jim was a great trooper and Jen gorgeous as always, love that smile. Jim’s pretty camera shy and a bit apprehensive. E-sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera. It’s fun practice. The way Jen looks at Jim, so lovingly, makes my heart melt.

Hope you two had fun wondering and discovering the city afterwards. Here’s a few of my favs from our session.

a good luck kiss for 50 + years~

Can’t wait till September!

The Briggs Kids

In Client shoots, Portrait, children, klm Photography on May 6, 2008 at 5:44 pm

I spent the afternoon hanging out with Mom Tonya, big sister Myra and the newest addition Dylan. (boo Dad was at work) Myra is such a great big sister. She took me on a tour of their house, showed me her little brother (she’s very proud!) and then I met their dog Cassie. I think Myra is really infatuated with Dylan. I would be too! I’m digging his big blue eyes and auburn spiky hair.

Here’s little Dylan Briggs first photo shoot

Myra’s little head peeping up makes me laugh.

Tonya’s sister bought Dylan a cool pair of Vans. Of course we had to photograph them!

I love how they are in almost identical poses. Not intentional or set up. Siblings!

Nothing better than pink converse and rocket ships.

Dylan’s little snooze didn’t last too long.

Thanks so much for the coffee Tonya!

Stompin Lizzy Stanton

In Client shoots, Portrait, klm Photography on May 5, 2008 at 4:16 pm

It was so cool photographing one of the Dutchland Derby Roller Girls, Theresa Metz aka Stompin Lizzy Stanton. Theresa was referred to me by a good friend of mine for wedding photography. We started talking and it turns out Ms.Stanton is the Lancaster’s Red Cap spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. They were considering her for their national “faces of the heart” campaign.
Theresa had two heart surgeries when she was younger. We photographed her head shot (beautiful!) and she just got notice of her story being up on the AHA National website as a feature site!

People all over the country will be reading about her story. I’m so honored Theresa asked me to be part of her story. Just goes without saying “every picture tells your story”!

Here’s the link to the AHA website. She is also listed on the main www.heart.org site!

Little Nora

In Client shoots, Portrait, children, klm Photography on April 25, 2008 at 8:13 pm

I was really excited for my afternoon baby session with Miss Nora. Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon. Warm sun, warm temps, couldn’t make it any better. Nora’s starting to walk, usually with the help of her parents. She’ll take a couple of steps by herself, but they are few for this almost one year old. I have a feeling she’ll be as active as her parents in no time! Actually she is really active, crawling, checking out stuff, exploring the world.

Here are some of my favs from our Life portrait session. Too cute with her scrunchy face!

Wasn’t too crazy about the hat!

So, how do you photograph a little one who doesn’t want to sit…..swing them around, duh.

This series I call; swinging it, baby.

I wish I had video for you to hear how much she was laughing. Time to check out the grass.

Another way to get a baby to stay still!

Back to swinging. These two are my absolute favorites.

I photographed her through the plastic of her stroller cover. I love naturally created textures.

Nora’s infamous scrunchy face.
