Little Nora

In Client shoots, Portrait, children, klm Photography on April 25, 2008 at 8:13 pm

I was really excited for my afternoon baby session with Miss Nora. Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon. Warm sun, warm temps, couldn’t make it any better. Nora’s starting to walk, usually with the help of her parents. She’ll take a couple of steps by herself, but they are few for this almost one year old. I have a feeling she’ll be as active as her parents in no time! Actually she is really active, crawling, checking out stuff, exploring the world.

Here are some of my favs from our Life portrait session. Too cute with her scrunchy face!

Wasn’t too crazy about the hat!

So, how do you photograph a little one who doesn’t want to sit…..swing them around, duh.

This series I call; swinging it, baby.

I wish I had video for you to hear how much she was laughing. Time to check out the grass.

Another way to get a baby to stay still!

Back to swinging. These two are my absolute favorites.

I photographed her through the plastic of her stroller cover. I love naturally created textures.

Nora’s infamous scrunchy face.

Still into Motion

In Client shoots, Portrait, children, klm Photography on April 9, 2008 at 2:58 pm

Last week klm Photography and Allen Clements, Otaku Motion, got together for a photo shoot. We photographed three children for Kingdom Builders. The script for the commercial is children drawing and dreaming of living in a new home. A home they’ve created. A home they can call their own. That’s exactly what Kingdom Builders provides. Kingdom educated the public on how to properly own their own home. It amazes me how much renting really adds up yearly. A common misconception is renting is cheaper than owning. Not always the case! Take a class from Kingdom and find out how to make your dream home a reality.

I can’t wait for the commercial to be completed. I’ll defiantly post it! It’s so cool to see my images turned into motion. Merging to mediums, Love it!

It was a blast working with Allen. He’s awesome. I highly recommend him for any video needs you have.

REMINDER- April Portrait session special, getting booked. Act now!

Rock on, these guys are super cute. Krisha

Baby Zachary

In Client shoots, Portrait, children, klm Photography on March 3, 2008 at 7:39 pm

His smile is infectious, his laugh is joy and his life is strength. You’d think coming into this world would be hard enough for a new born baby. It wasn’t until two weeks after his birth, baby Zachary, would face his toughest challenge ever. Fighting off Viral Meningitis.

Zachary spent 21+ days in the hospital. Once he was allowed home no visitors could come and welcome him since his immune system was so week from fighting the virus. Baby Zachary couldn’t have visitors for another three months after his birth. Finally at 5 months we could schedule his newborn shoot!

Through this all he keeps smiling and laughing everyday! Here is a sunny afternoon with Zachary and a shot with his big brother Salvatore.

Earlier this week I attended a workshop by Joel and Rita of The Wiebners. They are a fantastic pair of wedding photographers. Their talent shines on the inside and out! I truly walked away from their workshop ready to start my 2008 shooting year. I’m excited, rejuvenated, awake and alive! I personally believe it’s important to continue your professional education no matter what your career is. This can only create a better service for my clients. Good things are happening. I can feel the positive energy all around.

The Picking Family

In Client shoots, Portrait, children, klm Photography on February 6, 2008 at 9:11 pm

Yesterday I photographed the Picking Family while I’m in Colorado. Lynn and Andy are awesome!! They have three gorgeous children- Sophie, 2 years, and 10 month old twins, Izzy and Drew. I had a wonderful time spending the day with them. At first Drew was a bit shy until he noticed my necklace. He then raced over to me and opened up from that point on. Right away Izzy was smiling at me sitting in her walker just hanging out. Izzy could be the next Gerber baby…soo cute! After awhile Sophie came home from her first day of preschool. Sophie was ready to tell us all about it and said she wanted to go back on Thursday. Yeah! We all hung out together as they played before nap time. I really enjoyed talking with Lynn while the kids were sleeping. I learned more about the Steamboat area. It truly is beautiful! Photography is much easier with a wonderful environment like this.

By now the kiddos were up. Time to eat lunch. After lunch we bundled everyone up and took some outside shots. The sky was blue as can be. Even though the temperatures were low, the sun was nice and warm.

Thank you Lynn, Andy, Sophie, Izzy and Drew! Can’t wait for a summer time shoot!!

What do you do for your 30th birthday party?? You could sulk, pout OR have a surprise roller skating partayy! A dear friend of mine, Dave, turned 30 and so his wife threw him a rollerskating party. Ice cream and all! There’s no doubt Dave isn’t a kid at heart. Just have a conversation with the guy and it’s all about electronics and the latest toys. We all had a great time. Some had blisters, sore knees and some even got reprimanded by 15yr olds, but all in all it was a good time. Made us feel young again. Here’s some of the days highlights.

My Morning

In Open Collection Images, Pet, Portrait, klm Photography on January 22, 2008 at 4:59 pm

If your not living under a rock than you know it’s COLD outside here on the east coast. If you are living under a rock maybe your hibernating because it’s COLD outside! LOL, did you know it’s COLD outside? I’m freezing just sitting here in my kitchen, ok our table is by our back door but regardless! The dogs on the other hand don’t mind, in fact I think it makes them friskier!

I’ve been busy meeting and book brides the past couple of weeks! We couldn’t be happier than we are at the response from our Knot ad! You rock thank you!! I’ve also been really busy shooting commercial work and am meeting with some really fun prospect clients for spring shoots. Lifestyle/Editorial photography rocks and that’s how I’ve been shooting since day one.

I was working on my laptop, processing some contact sheet from a recent head-shot shoot, and realized….man it’s quiet in this house…what’s going on?! Todd has been working more from home and between us and the dogs it’s hardly ever quiet in our house. So I stepped foot into our living room and this is what I found….

0765.jpg

Like father, like son.

The boys were taking a late morning nap. So me, being me, decided to WAKE everyone up and bother them all with my camera!

0775.jpg

From the very first day we spotted this little(ha ha ha) boy he was sound asleep. It look him 15 min to wake up and realize someone was holding him. It usually takes us awhile to wake up Coal.

0788.jpg

I’m amazed at the fact that this 55lb + puppy lays perfectly flat on the ground or curl up super tight into a ball.

0782.jpg

“Hello, I’m sleeping here!”

0790.jpg

0779.jpg

“Now I’m awake, party time!”

0795.jpg

As Cali has gotten older she absolutely hates getting photographed. She’ll run around whining, barking and grumbling because there’s a lens in her face. See the following examples! It’s so rare to get her to actually look at the camera. Pretty pretty princess!

Gotcha Cali!

0842.jpg

“Please dad make it stop!”

0847.jpg

Yep, that’s me. Todd took my camera because by this time everyone is up and wound-up. Coal is the best snugglier in the world. Must have a Coal hug at least once a day….keeps the doctor away….so does not having health insurance! Another story for another day~

0849.jpg

0852.jpg

Gotcha again Cali!!

I’ve decided to create a “dog wall” in our house to full fill my need to show off my “kids”. It’s an addiction I know. Don’t worry we’ll have some humans on here soon. I just love photo essays. I’m also making a dogie portrait coffee table book. If your interested in your own pet book contact me and I’ll photograph their day and your time together. It really is tons of fun and I think you’ll enjoy showing them off just as much as I do.

Now back to work~
